"A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder."

Thomas Carlyle

Reflection: I think this quote would have been better if goal was replaced by purpose because if a person has no goal they can still move if they have a purpose just like a ship can still move without its rudder but just a straight path. Without a goal a people will have no ambition to do anything. Humanity may have never had the technology we have now a days.

"If there is beauty in character there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation there will be peace in the world.

Reflection: I think this quote is wrong because there will never be true peace in the world it may stay for a while but then it will go. There will never be peace because every person has a different opinion.

The Six Pillars of Character

"The Six Pillars of Character"

1. The Six Pillars of Character are: Trustworthiness,Respect,Responsibility,Fairness,Caring, and Citizenship,

2.Trustworthiness: is to be honest and to not cheat it is also to be reliable and to do what you say. Some examples are to tell someone when you have something that is not yours.
Respect: Is to be tolerant and accepting of differences, Some examples are to tolerate the person you don't like because you have to work.
Responsibility: It is to do what you are supposed to do and to keep on trying. Some examples are to do your homework if you have any to do.
Fairness: Is to play by the rules and to take turns and share, Some examples of this are to not cheat in a game you are playing.
Caring: Is to be kind and compassionate also to show others you care. Some examples are to take care of a sick person when no one else can or to help people when they can't help themselves.
Citizenship: Is to do your share to make your community better and to get involved in community affairs. Some examples are to clean the streets of dirt and trash another example is to help with the fundraisers.

Reflection: My thoughts about the six pillars of character are that they are very well thought out and I am sure people follow them to the dot but other people may not follow it because every person has there own thought process. But they are very well though out with all the forms of how you can know if you show the pillar or not bu they should also add what not to do.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is an American holiday that happens on the last Monday of May, in which we honor the men and woman who died while serving in the U.S. military. It was originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, at least, it marks the beginning of summer. Some ways of celebrating this holiday is by making a cookout with your family and praying to god and thanking all the men and woman who died while protecting the U.S.

Some ways that I will celebrate this holiday is by watching the parades on the television and when it is dinner time I will say a quick amen to the men and woman who are protecting are great nation.
