"Obedience is the great test of life"

Thomas S. Monson

Reflection: This quote is trying to say that all through out life the biggest test that we will all have is obedience. I think this quote is wrong because I believe that the greatest test in life is life its self. I believe that life is the greatest test in life because we as people go through  a lot of thing every waking moment of the day and that is why the greatest test in life is life it self because it only end when we die and if you believe in a heaven that is where your test is evaluated.

Reflection: This quote is trying to say that obedience is central to becoming, being, and to remaining happy. To me this quote is wrong because there exist a lot of people who are happy being disobedient for me being happy is to have complete and total freedom which means to have nobody being in charge of you because they always put restrictions on everything a person does.

Reggie Bush

The football player who now plays for the Detroit Lions and former Heisman trophy winner had his Heisman trophy taken away from him because the organization had found out that when he was in his finale year he was taking bribes and other items which is illegal for collage players. The sad thing about this is that his the only Heisman winner to have his trophy taken away from him. The staff at the time also knew about this but said nothing because they did not want to lose an ace player. Also all the wins they had that season where all stripped away from the team of USC they also took away the teams championship trophy.Reggie Bush must have learned his lesson after this incident because it must feel bad to be one of the only winners of the Heisman Trophy to lose the trophy.

"The key to freedom is obedience"

Boyd K. Packer

Reflection: I disagree with this quote for many reasons. One is that who ever you are obedient to is letting you do what you want to do so it can give you a false sense of freedom which is what most countries in the world do now. Another is that no one can feel real freedom because as long as we live in the physical world we would have to die to feel actual freedom because then we can escape or physical body and live on as a spiritual figure free of everything.

Obedience

Obedience in human nature is the will to follow someone that is an authority figure say like your parents, teachers, the President, etc.

Some synonyms are:

  • Compliance
  • Duty
  • Conformity
  • Submission
  • tameness

Some examples of obedience are:

  • A solider is obedient to his commanding officer
  • The boy obeyed his mother and father when he was told to throw away the trash

911 Memorial

For al Qaeda September 11, 2001 was supposed to be a glorious day because the American spirit was supposed to be crushed but no this attack actually strengthened our spirit and after a President Bush went to war with al Qaeda. Some eye witness said that they heard a sonic boom as soon as the plane came in range. Members from al Qaeda hijacked three airplanes two which hit the twin towers and another was going top hit the President at camp David but the passengers knew something was going on so they decided to try and take back the plane they were not able to do it but they were able to bring the plane down farther away.At 8:46 Am American airlines flight 11 from Boston carrying around 92 aboard traveling at a speed of 460 MPH hits the north tower. At  9:03 United Airlines flight 175 traveling with 65 aboard traveling at a speed of 590 MPH smashes into the south tower. The south tower only last for 56 minutes.

Reflection: When this event happened I was just three years old but after I started school I was told about this tragic event I didn't feel anything because no family members of mine lived in that city so I was not interested but years later I put more thought into the event and I felt sad for the people who actually lost family members in the event. Now I feel sad for them everyday because  some kids may not have one of their parents. My thoughts were how could some do that and only a person who had no soul but then I learned everybody has a reason to do thing. In those times I would always hear about the war with al Qaeda and I had a friend who his dad was in the war and almost died because the vehicle he was in was hit by an IED or Improvised Explosive Device.
